Trump's failure in Alaska to charm Putin into agreeing to even a ceasefire in the Ukraine war means that Trump now owns Ukraine's future. Either the US renews direct and effective military aid to Ukraine in the face of Putin's overwhelming supply of cannon fodder soldiers, or Ukraine will fail eventually....and Trump's inaction will be blamed for the reason. Biden's fumble on Afghanistan was a serious blow to his political prospects. That is not the legacy ego-driven drivenTrump wants to leave for posterity. Europe is stepping up to the plate, which will delay the loss of Ukraine, but the best and quickest way to end the conflict is to simply equip Ukraine with the force of military aid that offsets Putin's greatest asset...lots of soldiers. Economic sanctions also take a long time to be effective...The quickest, best, and most effective is to restore full aid to Ukraine. Putin will get that.
