MAGA is not stupid; may be undeducated, or self-interested, but not stupid.
I am seeing a lot of chatter from the left thinking all of MAGA is stupid. Throwing insults is not a way to win friends and influence people. Not stupid, but perhaps we can owe it to so many being uneducated and/or self-interested. Somehow, over the years, civics education got lost in the education system or became just another boring class in school. A recent study found that only one out of three Americans would pass a citizenship test. There are also plenty in MAGA with higher degrees than a high school diploma who see Trumpism as favorable to their business interest, less regulation, tax advantages, and an assumed faith that Trump's destruction of the current economy is just temporary because he is a businessman himself. They are willing to overlook any other negatives of racism and defiance of the Constitutional rule of law.
Where one gets news or pays attention to it is also a contributor to how educated voters are about current events. The puzzle is that even with all of the recent coverage of Trump's corruption, defying and challenging the courts, including the Supreme Court, MAGA base is as loyal as ever. Why? There may be a clue in a recent survey that found a strong correlation between even being aware of the news, ignorance, has something to do with it. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/not-surprising-new-poll-explains-why-some-voters-still-approve-of-trump/ar-AA1F0eZF?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=HCTS&cvid=fc031c5b28b24b669e5ee7ff29f0039b&ei=11
Aside from business self-interests, is every MAGA stupid? I will add to that list of those who sound ignorant, red or blue, that they are suffering from a lack of education about democracy and the history of our country. The country was founded because of the excesses and unfairness of a King, who was, in our founders' minds, a tyrant. What our founders revolted against is the tendency of those in power to act like tyrants because that is a characteristic of human nature. Many of our founders were also students of classical history, including the flaws that brought down Roman and Greek democracy, as well as King George III and English history. Many founders were influenced by Scottish teachers and philosophy. The fears of a tyrannical government and the need to keep the government from becoming tyrannical had validity then as they do now, because our founders realized that humans act the way they do, well, because they are just human. Humanity has not changed, while governments have.

Grievances of the United States Declaration of Independence - Wikipedia Some of these may sound familiar today, but these are what motivated the signers of the Declaration of Independence
