So now it is Pentagon policy to punish military for refusing to commit war crimes?

Pentagon to demote Sen. Kelly from retired Navy rank as captain, but stops short of threatened trial | Reuters

More public revenge tour...only this is especially disgusting. The implications: Hegseth et all want to force military service people to act illegally and carry out illegal orders and punish any former military who would object or refuse to act for that reason? The Trump machine punishes a US Senator and ranking war hero/astronaut for only publicizing what are legal rights of US troops not to commit war crimes, explicit rights spelled out in military justice manuals. , among them killing innocent civilians. These rights were written as the result of the Nuremburg post WWII war crimes trials, when the Nazi defendants claimed they were innocent "because they were only following orders". Originally, Hegseth threatened to recall Kelly to active duty so he could court-martial him for daring to remind service members of their rights as a disloyal act of some sort.. I guess he figured even after he had fired all of the JAG brass, he still would have lost that one in military courts...so he opted to try to punish him financially be demoting him from captain. OMG.
