Trump is about race, pure and simple.

Trump's remarks, "immigrants are poisoning our blood", straight out of Mein Kampf, Hiter's manifesto, were aimed not only at "illegal" immigrants but restricting legal immigrants. He is the one who is un-American and, if anything, pure racist, appealing to those who live in their fantasy of being pure themselves. That left me wondering which one of my great-grandparents, grandparents, and immigrant husband, all of whom represent ancestral roots in seven countries, poisoned whose blood? My children and grandchildren are married to or have significant others who add Brazilian, Cherokee, and Austrian blood to our family ties. Even the indigenous came from Asia. That is the story of America. Look, white nationalists, without immigration, you would not be in the US, ranting about your racial superiority..Check your own roots.

Hungary and Russia Trump wants to emulate and praises so much, they can boast of their "pure blood" (with ancestors tracing a thousand years ago to Vikings, Mongol invaders, Turkic Magyars, and Slavic tribes), but that is not America. America has never been defined by blood roots. America is an idea made up of many bloods who all came here searching for a better life, fleeing oppression or lack of opportunity in those "pure-blooded" countries. or being forcibly imported as slaves. Trump himself has four out of five children from his two of his Slavic immigrant wives. While his grandfather was a German immigrant and his mother was an immigrant from Scotland, he spews hatred of immigrants.. Early in Trump's term, he welcomed and preferred immigrants from Norway. Guess they are not rapists, murderers, dark-skinned criminals, and mentally ill, like those invading us from south of the border, and they are safely Nordic, It's not about about the country of origin., Trump is about race, pure and simple.

A personal laugh: Trump's comments about welcoming Norwegians as his preferred immigrants always got howls of laughter from our household: In a rather recent trip to Norway, my question was, why would they?
