Listening to the variety of former critics now in attendance and /or lauding Trump at the party unity night RNC convention, I got extra intense whiplashes from those who had called Trump a Hitler (Vance), a mental case needing to have a mental health test (Haley), and now proclaiming fawning praise. The title of a book, a mea culpa about Watergate, written by John Dean, Nixon's former White House counsel, keeps ringing in my head. "Bind Ambition".It is one answer to how they can humiliate and reverse themselves: I would add another element motivating them: Fear of a tyrant who governs with threats of revenge, counting on their cowardice.
